About the paper

A Daily Paper of Puzzles

The Puzzle Times prints fresh puzzles every midnight. They are free to play in your browser, with nothing to download and no account to make.

What's in the paper

The Word Search

Fourteen words hidden in a grid of letters, on a new theme every day. Drag from a word's first letter to its last to trace it. Play it in four styles: Easy and Classic, where words run in straight lines in any direction, Bendy, where they turn at right angles, and Twisty, where they wind through all eight directions. Besides the daily there are random boards to play as often as you like, and head-to-head races against a friend on the same board.

The Lockbox

A daily code to crack. Type a combination of different digits, and the lock tells you how many are correct and well placed, and how many are correct but in the wrong place, never which ones. Reason across your clues and open the lock in as few guesses as you can. Monday's lock is the gentlest and the weekend's the hardest.

More puzzles are being set, and will join the paper as they are ready.

A new edition every midnight

Every daily puzzle changes at midnight UTC. Everyone gets the same puzzles on the same day, so you can compare how you did with friends. Finish a daily on consecutive days to build a streak.

Your record

Your streaks, scores and achievements are kept in your own browser, not on an account. There's nothing to sign up for. Because they live in the browser, they stay on the device you played on, and clearing this site's data in your browser clears them too.
